Notice that the surface C appears as a line in the side orthographic view. Surface C is perpendicular to the profile projection plane. It is at an angle (inclined) to the frontal and horizontal planes and therefore it appears foreshortened in the front and top views. Surface C does not appear true size (TS) in any of the principal views.
Edge C appears as a line in all three views. Edge C is parallel to the profile projection plane and therefore appears true length (TL) in the side orthographic view. Edge C is at an angle to the frontal and horizontal planes and therefore appears foreshortened in the front and top orthographic views.
