Jean-Marc graduated
in 1986 from the French Ecole d'Ingénieurs, the "
Institut National des Télécommunications "
and worked for ITT Data Systems and McDonell Douglas Information
Systems before joining BT in 1991. Jean-Marc has held a wide
range of sales, marketing and management responsibilities
during the course of his 15-year career in the world of telecommunications,
and was one of the founders of BT's European expansion.
Until June 2000, Jean-Marc Frangos was Director, Internet
and Multimedia for BT Europe, and his responsibilities included
the definition and implementation of BT's strategy and the
planning and execution of BT's development in Internet &
Multimedia, including organic growth and regional partnerships.
During the course of 1999, his team launched four free Internet
Service Providers (ISP's) and managed to grow the Alliance
customer base by more than 1 million subscribers.
Immediately before joining BTexact Technologies on 1st April
2001, Jean-Marc was the Director of Corporate Venturing for
BT plc, reporting to Pat Gallagher, the BT group Director
for Strategy and Development.

wireless, satellite and broadband communications systems. He
currently serves as the chief technical officer at voice-activated

He is a Co-founder and former vice president of TurboNet Communications,
the world's largest OEM provider of DOCSIS cable modems. At
TV/Com International, he led teams in parallel development of
cable and satellite boxes, boards and ASICs for digital video
usage. He served as a project leader on several high-level wireless
projects at San Diego's renowned wireless innovator, TITAN Linkabit
during the 1980's. Previously, he was a systems engineer at
McDonnell Douglas.

Michael Wehrs is Director, Technology
and Standards for Microsoft's Mobility Solutions Planning Group
where his responsibilities focus on emerging technologies and

services organizations within Microsoft. In this position Michael
initiates, coordinates and drives relevant planning related
processes for the development of technology and standards efforts
within the Mobility Group and across Microsoft. Prior to his
current roll, Michael worked in Microsoft's mobile devices group
where his responsibilities included managing product planning
and market research across the full range of mobile products
and driving several of Microsoft's wireless efforts company-wide.

Microsoft, Michael was a Principal with Ignition Partners, a
Venture Capital firm focused on early stage wireless and telecommunication
related companies. His responsibilities at Ignition included
providing strategic marketing, technical and business development
counsel to portfolio companies, as well as relationships with
the various wireless technology industry forums and the venture
capital community.
Prior to Ignition, Michael held senior and executive management
positions in business development, technology strategy, marketing,
sales and product management for companies including Sony Electronics,
Samsung Electronics, Conner Peripherals, and Archive Corporation.
He has over 18 years of management experience in the computer
and consumer electronics technology fields with particular emphasis
on wireless communication technologies.
Mike has an extensive record of industry activities. Highlights
of these activities include serving as Chairman of the HomeRF
Multimedia Industry committee, founding Chairman of the QIC
Software Standards Committee, member of OSTA committee on data
format standards, and Program Management Group member for the
Bluetooth SIG. He has also been a featured speaker at dozens

of his work, he has filed three patents in the wireless space.
During 24+ years of his hi-tech career, he has worked in several

and has held key senior management position. He considers himself
strong customer advocate, innovative and with an ability to
see beyond the obvious and strongly believes that

Jane Macfarlane joined OnStar in August 1999 as the Director

Her research work combined artificial intelligence techniques

computing system that aids in the design and control of dynamic
physical systems. For her masters she designed and built a laser
scanning system for measuring human and robotic motion. She
earned her bachelor's degree from the University of California

Dr. Mumick has written more than 40 technical papers that have

is Co-editor of a book on Materialized Views, and the general
chair of the 24th International Conference on Very Large Databases.
Additionally, Dr. Mumick has authored more than twenty five
patent applications. Known around the world, Dr. Mumick is a
frequent speaker at industry events, including tradeshows and
conferences, and has been listed on various Whos Who lists.
With a bachelors degree in computer science and engineering
from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, India, where
he was awarded the President's Gold Medal, Dr. Mumick went on
to earn his Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford University.

Redondo Beach. At TRW, he built advanced RF and digital communications
systems. Troy holds BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering
from the University of Southern California and a MBA from The
Anderson School at UCLA. At USC, Troy was elected to two engineering
honor societies, Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu. |
